New Look Vision profit misses consensus by 33.0% in fiscal Q1

New Look Vision Group Inc. said its normalized net income for the fiscal first quarter ended March 28 was 11 Canadian cents per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of 17 cents per share.

EPS rose 58.7% year over year from 7 cents.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was C$1.6 million, an increase of 67.9% from C$930,880 in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin climbed to 3.8% from 2.9% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue increased 31.4% year over year to C$41.8 million from C$31.8 million, and total operating expenses climbed 30.9% year over year to C$38.0 million from C$29.0 million.

Reported net income grew 58.7% from the prior-year period to C$1.6 million, or 12 cents per share, from C$1.0 million, or 8 cents per share.
