Availablebeginning April 14, the TV box will feature Ultra HD broadcasts of the openinggame, the quarter-finals and all games onwards of the 2016 EuropeanChampionships on Swiss channel SRF zwei, Swisscom announced April 13.
The TV boxcomes with a microphone-equipped remote control, allowing voice-activatedcontent search. The voice-activated search function supports , all Swiss Germandialects and French, with Italian to beadded later.
A built-inVLC media player can be used to play various types of media, such assmartphone-shot videos, as the company also prepares to integrate 4K streamingof YouTube content via the TV box.
Upon launchof the new TV box, several Ultra HD films and documentaries will be availableto rent.
The firstlive Ultra HD channels will debut in May, the company said.
Swisscomwill also partner with Teleclub to air two matches of the Raiffeisen SuperLeague per week in Ultra HD, starting from the 2016-17 season.
Newcustomers subscribing to a Vivo package with Swisscom TV 2.0 will get the UltraHD TV box free.
