Wollongong eyes restart of coal production at Wongawilli colliery this month

WollongongCoal Ltd. said July 18 that it is planning to restart coalproduction at the Wongawilli mine in New South Wales, Australia, thismonth, with first shipment expected in the current quarter.

The colliery was placed on care and maintenance in August 2014 when thecompany was struggling amid falling production.

Wollongong Coal appointed mining services company Delta SBDLtd. to operate Wongawilli for an interim period of two years, covering theextraction of up to 1.45 million tonnes.
