A group of real estate developers including Icade, AG Real Estate and Nexity won the bid for an architectural project organized by the City of Paris and the SEMAPA.

The Nouvel R development will involve creating a new urban center linking Paris with its Ivry sur Seine commune, and turn Bruneseau into France's first decarbonized district.

The project will involve creation of 25,000 square meters of office, 50,000 square meters of housing, and 20,000 square meters of retail and activities space.

According to a release, 65% of the energy consumed in the district will be either renewable or recovered, and 50% will be generated on site.
