TransCanada adds more shippers for NOVA pipeline export service expansion

TransCanada Corp. attracted another 280 MMcf/d of firm shipping commitments during a recent open season for export services on its NOVA Gas Transmission Ltd. natural gas pipeline system, which the company already planned to expand with a related 1 Bcf/d, C$2.4 billion project.

NOVA Gas Transmission is expecting to spend about C$120 million to further expand the Empress/McNeill export delivery point on its system. The expansions would provide Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin producers access to local and export markets via an interconnection at TransCanada's Canadian Mainline system.

During the most recent open season, TransCanada said the average contract signed was for 22 years. Service is expected to start in November 2021.
