BB&T's chief corporate communications officer to retire

Cynthia Williams, chief corporate communications officer andsenior executive vice president of Winston-Salem, N.C.-based BB&T Corp., will retire effective June 30.

Williams, who also serves as chair of the company's executivediversity council, has been chief corporate communications officer of BB&T since2009. She was named tothe BB&T executive management team in 2012, according to a news release.
