Indonesian state-owned aluminum group to increase output to 1 million tonnes per annum by 2025

State-owned PTIndonesia Asahan Aluminium, or Inalum, is planning to increase its annualaluminum production to 500,000 tonnes by 2020 and to 1 million tonnes by 2025, Reuterswrote May 11 citing Dante Sinaga, head of Inalum's coal power station developmentproject.

According to Sinaga, the move to raise the company's output fromthe current 260,000-tonnes-per-year level is on the back of forecasts that aluminumdemand will more than double in nine years.
