NRG closes sale of 100-MW NM wind project to investors; NextEra now to acquire it

An NRG EnergyInc. subsidiary completed the sale of its 100-MW High Lonesome Mesa wind project in TorranceCounty, N.M., for an undisclosed sum.

FERC on April 1 was notified that the of the project to indirectsubsidiaries of Macquarie Group Ltd. and Hannon Armstrong Sustainable InfrastructureLP was completed March 31. FERC approved the transaction March 1, giving theMacquarie subsidiary 77.47% of the power plant and the Hannon subsidiary theremaining 22.53% ownership of the facility. (EC16-63)

In a separate but related transaction, FERC on March 30approved thesale of thefacility from the Macquarie and Hannon investors to subsidiaryNextEra Energy Resources LLC.(EC16-83)

Pinnacle WestCapital Corp. utility ArizonaPublic Service Co. will receive the plant's output under a 30-yearpower contract expiring July 2039.
