Philip Morris Korea to sell locally made tobacco sticks

The South Korean arm of Philip Morris International Inc. is set to begin selling locally manufactured Heets tobacco sticks by late October, Yonhap News Agency reported Oct. 11.

The move follows Philip Morris Korea's expansion of its Yangsan factory, which manufactures heated tobacco units for its IQOS tobacco heating device. The company imports Heets for sale in the country, Yonhap said.

According to the newswire, Heets' total tobacco market share in South Korea stood at 8.1% in August.
