Amagasa Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal second quarter ended July 31 amounted to ¥48.97 per share, a gain of 36.4% from ¥35.89 per share in the year-earlier period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥91.3 million, an increase of 36.4% from ¥66.9 million in the prior-year period.
The normalized profit margin climbed to 4.6% from 3.7% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue rose 9.5% year over year to ¥1.97 billion from ¥1.80 billion, and total operating expenses grew 7.0% from the prior-year period to ¥1.81 billion from ¥1.69 billion.
Reported net income rose 31.8% year over year to ¥87.0 million, or ¥46.69 per share, from ¥66.0 million, or ¥35.42 per share.
As of Sept. 11, US$1 was equivalent to ¥106.82.
