Sempio Co. Q3 profit climbs 13.9% YOY

Sempio Co. said its normalized net income for the third quarter amounted to 1,500.59 South Korean won per share, an increase of 13.8% from 1,318.04 won per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 4.64 billion won, a gain of 13.9% from 4.08 billion won in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin dropped to negative 204.4% from 5.9% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue grew 5.0% on an annual basis to 72.56 billion won from 69.13 billion won, and total operating expenses climbed 5.3% from the prior-year period to 66.39 billion won from 63.04 billion won.

Reported net income rose year over year to 5.93 billion won, or 1,915.45 won per share, from 5.83 billion won, or 1,886.00 won per share.

As of Nov. 16, US$1 was equivalent to 1,172.80 South Korean won.
