KCP&L opens 3-MW Mo. solar project

Kansas CityPower & Light Co. has opened a 3-MW solar project at the siteof its Greenwoodenergy center in Greenwood, Mo.

The project comprises 11,500 solar panels capable ofgenerating a combined 4,700 MWh of electricity on an annual basis, according toa July 12 release.

The GreatPlains Energy Inc. subsidiary joined forces with to construct thecommercial-scale solar facility.
