Soko Seiren fiscal Q3 loss narrows YOY

Soko Seiren Co.Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended Dec. 31, 2015, amounted to a loss of ¥9.18 per share, compared with a loss of ¥15.58 per share in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was a loss of ¥65.4 million, compared with a loss of ¥111.0 million in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin climbed to negative 7.1% from negative 13.9% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue climbed 14.4% on an annual basis to ¥916.0 million from ¥801.0 million, and total operating expenses declined 8.0% from the prior-year period to ¥913.0 million from ¥992.0 million.

Reported net income came to a loss of ¥110.0 million, or a loss of ¥15.45 per share, compared to a loss of ¥182.0 million, or a loss of ¥25.55 per share, in the prior-year period.

As of Feb. 15, US$1 was equivalent to ¥114.50.
