Court orders Verisk to pay $125M in damage over patents suit

The U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey ordered Verisk Analytics Inc. to pay $125 million in damages for willfully infringing certain patents owned by Eagle View Technologies Inc. and Pictometry International Group Inc.

The two companies sued Verisk, alleging it infringed seven of their patents. Eagle View plans to petition the court to award up to treble damages, while Verisk plans to appeal the court's decision.
