SPower begins commercial operation at 20-MW Calif. solar project

Renewable energy independent power producer sPower has started commercial operation at the 20-MWac Antelope DSR 3 solar project in Lancaster, Calif.

Antelope DSR 3 was constructed by Cupertino Electric Inc. The project will sell power to Edison International subsidiary Southern California Edison Co. under a long-term agreement, according to an Oct. 8 news release.

Legally known as Sustainable Power Group LLC, sPower is a joint venture of AES Corp. and Alberta Investment Management Corp.
