Bermuda-based Aspen Insurance Holdings Ltd. promoted Emil Issavi, president and chief underwriting officer of Aspen Re, to lead the company's reinsurance business.

Issavi will succeed Thomas Lillelund, who is leaving Aspen to take a senior leadership position with a global property and casualty insurance company. Re-insurance reported that Lillelund is joining American International Group Inc.
