Alimentation Couche-Tard Inc. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended Feb. 1 amounted to 40 cents per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of 59 cents per share.
EPS climbed 69.3% year over year from 24 cents.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was $228.8 million, a gain of 69.4% from $135.1 million in the year-earlier period.
The normalized profit margin increased to 2.5% from 1.2% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue fell 17.9% year over year to $9.11 billion from $11.09 billion, and total operating expenses declined 19.8% year over year to $8.71 billion from $10.86 billion.
Reported net income grew 37.6% on an annual basis to $250.3 million, or 44 cents per share, from $181.9 million, or 32 cents per share.
