Doray Minerals Ltd. said Aug. 10 that underground mining at the Deflector gold-copper mine in Western Australia resumed, following safety checks that ensured there were no further hazards at the site.
Operations at the mine were temporarily halted since Aug. 8 due to a fire involving an underground loader. All workers were safe following the incident.
The two-day interruption will not affect the mine's expected output for the full year, as stockpiled ore were processed during the period. In July, Doray estimated annual gold production at Deflector to increase to about 85,000 ounces at an average all-in sustaining cost of A$1,070 per ounce.
