Samsung C&T profit holds mostly steady YOY in Q2

Samsung C&T Corp. said its normalized net income for the second quarter came to 743.20 South Korean won per share, an increase from 731.99 won per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 122.55 billion won, compared with 123.03 billion won in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin declined to 1.7% from 1.7% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue grew year over year to 7.319 trillion won from 7.051 trillion won, and total operating expenses increased year over year to 7.077 trillion won from 6.866 trillion won.

Reported net income declined 21.9% from the prior-year period to 121.03 billion won, or 734.00 won per share, from 154.97 billion won, or 921.98 won per share.

As of Aug. 14, US$1 was equivalent to 1,139.03 South Korean won.
