Federated Insurance exiting group health biz

Federated Insurance will stop offering group health insurance beginning in 2018, because of Affordable Care Act uncertainties, the (Minnesota) Star Tribune reported.

The company told the publication it was "virtually impossible to accurately predict and set future rates" under the ACA's requirement timings, coupled with the lack of clarity around applicable taxes and fees.

The company informed customers and regulators about the planned exit in June.
