Walt Disney Co.is interested in acquiringabout one-third of MLB Advanced Media's video technology business BAM Tech for upto $1 billion, Re/code reported May 4, citing industry sources.

The deal, which would reportedly provide BAM Tech with a valuationof nearly $3 billion, includes an option for Disney to buy a controlling stake inthe video streaming company.

Other parties pursuing BAM Tech include private equity firm SilverLake Partners.
