BoE adviser van Steenis to become UBS sustainable finance chair

UBS Group AG named Huw van Steenis chair of its sustainable finance committee, effective Sept. 2.

The Swiss bank noted that the newly formed committee's steering group will focus on further growth opportunities and ensure the bank continues to drive innovation and develop expertise and thought leadership on sustainable finance.

Additionally, van Steenis will run UBS' investor relations. Martin Osinga, currently interim investor relations head, will become his deputy.

Van Steenis, who was a senior adviser to Bank of England Governor Mark Carney, will also become a group managing director at UBS and report to group CEO Sergio Ermotti and group CFO Kirt Gardner.
