Shin Kong Life FY'15 profit slides 92% YOY

Shin Kong LifeInsurance Co. Ltd. on Feb. 26 reported a 92% year-over-year plungein net income for the 12-month period ended Dec. 31, 2015.

Net income attributable to owners for 2015 fell to NT$135.8million from NT$1.61 billion in 2014. EPS dropped to 2 cents from26 cents in 2014.

Gross written premiums for 2015 increased to NT$223.98billion from NT$202.43 billion in 2014, while net insurance premium income roseyear over year to NT$222.78 billion from NT$200.41 billion.

Interest income for 2015 increased to NT$62.41 billion fromNT$52.16 billion in 2014. The company booked total operating income ofNT$296.55 billion, compared to NT$293.86 billion in the prior year.

As of Feb. 26, US$1was equivalent to NT$33.28.
