Peru's SBS publishes new market risk rules

Peru's financial regulator SBS on Dec. 20 published new market risk rules for companies across the financial system, which will be implemented June 1, 2018.

The regulation includes rules regarding the responsibility of directors, managers and market risk committees, as well as technology requirements in order to monitor financial risks arising in market price fluctuations, according to the resolution that was published in the official gazette, El Peruano.

According to the set of rules, companies must establish internal limits to control exposure to market risk. Banks are also required to have models for measuring market risk and will need to carry out stress tests and use other tools to monitor the exposure.
