Department store operator Lotte Shopping Co. Ltd. is setting up a Muslim prayer room at its Seoul store to attract more visitors from the Middle East and Southeast Asia, Yonhap News Agency wrote on Aug. 13.

The 49.6-square-meter space, which will have copies of the Quran as well as foot baths, will open at Lotte's store located in Seoul's Jamsil neighborhood on Aug. 16. The room will also have a separate area for men and women.

Lotte reportedly is also looking to certify Muslim-friendly restaurants at its Jamsil and Myeongdong outlets to cater to varying demands from the Muslim population.
