Entertainment insurance brokerage changes hands

Paul Bassman now owns Dallas-based Ascend Insurance Brokerage,which provides insurance to entertainment and festival venues. He isthe company's president and CEO.

Bassman acquired the company from its founder, James Chippendale,who started the company in 2001, Billboardreported July 19. Bassman joined the company eight years ago.

Ascend has 18 full-time employees, and the company's currentmanagement staff will remain in place, according to the report.
