Bright Dairy & Food Co. Ltd. said its first-quarter normalized net income came to 7 fen per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of 8 fen per share.
EPS rose 32.4% year over year from 5 fen.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 87.6 million yuan, an increase of 31.3% from 66.7 million yuan in the prior-year period.
The normalized profit margin increased to 1.8% from 1.4% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue climbed 8.1% on an annual basis to 4.99 billion yuan from 4.62 billion yuan, and total operating expenses grew 7.2% from the prior-year period to 4.78 billion yuan from 4.46 billion yuan.
Reported net income rose 39.2% from the prior-year period to 97.9 million yuan, or 8 fen per share, from 70.3 million yuan, or 6 fen per share.
