Toyota Motor Corp. said the statement from the White House on May 17 saying that imported cars threaten the national security sends a message that the company's investments are not welcomed.
"Today's proclamation sends a message to Toyota that our investments are not welcomed, and the contributions from each of our employees across America are not valued," the Japanese automaker said in a statement.
President Donald Trump on May 17 postponed a decision on whether to impose tariffs on auto imports as Washington negotiates with Europe, Japan and other countries to address its concerns.
