Duke Energy Renewables breaks ground on 25-MW N.M. solar facility

Duke EnergyRenewables Inc. has started constructing the 25-MW solar facility in QuayCounty, N.M., according to a May 10 company release.

The facility, which is targeted to be completed in late2016, marks the company's first project in New Mexico. The subsidiary acquiredthe project from Infigen EnergyLtd.

SwinertonRenewable Energy will construct the project, will provide thesolar panels, and Western FarmersElectric Cooperative Inc. will purchase the power produced by thefacility under a 25-year contract.
