Short interest in US homebuilders drops further in 1st half of April

Short interest among U.S. homebuilding companies fell 14 basispoints on average to 8.81% of outstanding shares during the first half of April,representing a further dropfrom 8.95% at March-end.

During the period between March 31 and April 15, logged the biggestshort interest increase, with shorts rising 149 basis points to 17.08% of its outstandingstock.

William Lyon Homesexperienced the largest decline in short interest, with a 170-basis-point drop toend the period with 24.68% of its outstanding stock held short.

KB Homewas the most shorted homebuilder stock at the end of the period. Shorts rose 101basis points to 27.14% of its outstanding shares.
