Webster Capital said it acquired JBR Clinical Research, a Salt Lake City-based clinical research site manager that conducts studies on behalf of pharmaceutical companies.

The Waltham, Mass.-based private equity firm did not disclose financial details of the transaction.

"JBR helps reduce both the cost and time to bring a drug to market, creating value for sponsors and patients across the world," Mehran Ahmed, principal at Webster Capital, said in a news release.
