Sprint Corp. appointed Néstor Cano to the newly created post of COO, effective Feb. 2.

Cano will report to Sprint's President and CEO Marcelo Claure. Cano most recently served as the president of European Operations at Tech Data, a distributor of IT products and services, the company said Jan. 24.
