Fitch expects BBB rating on JPMorgan debentures

Fitch Ratings on Dec. 5 said it expects to assign JPMorgan Chase & Co. junior subordinated debentures a rating of BBB.

The debentures will replace seven series of trust preferred securities, the issuers of which will be liquidated Dec. 18. The securities, which have a preferred stock rating of BBB, will be canceled and the junior subordinated debentures held by the issuing trusts will be distributed.

JPMorgan will become the obligor on the debentures.

The outlook is stable, reflecting JPMorgan's relative success in "adapting its business model to the evolving regulatory landscape," according to Fitch.
