CBS Corp. named Laurie Rosenfield chief people officer of the company.

In this newly created position, Rosenfield will focus on people and culture and be responsible for managing certain human resources functions for the company.

"We are very pleased to name Laurie to this new position as we continue to reassess and strengthen the culture here at CBS," Joe Ianniello, president and acting CEO of CBS Corp., said in an Oct. 11 statement. "Our employees are our most valuable asset, and this role has been created to ensure we remain steadfast in our commitment to putting our people first."

Notably, a probe into CBS' corporate culture is ongoing as its former CEO Les Moonves resigned due to allegations of sexual misconduct.

Rosenfield joined CBS in May as senior vice president, people development, human resources.
