Stornoway Diamond Corp. temporarily suspended operations at its Renard diamond mine in Quebec due to a local forest fire.

The mine facilities are in no immediate danger, but the location of the fire has affected access to the site, the company said July 2.

Stornoway is evacuating its nonessential staff for precautionary reasons, and road deliveries will remain suspended until normal safe working conditions can be re-established.
