Target Corp. on Oct. 17 introduced a new climate policy as part of its initiative to make its products and operations more sustainable.
The new policy includes goals to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from its facilities and cut down energy purchased to power the facilities by 25% below 2015 levels by 2025. The general merchandise retailer said it will also implement projects in its manufacturing facilities to bring down 2 million tonnes of emissions annually from manufacturing and distribution of products, among other sources, by 2022.
Target also said it will work with partners to source 100% renewable energy in its domestic operations in the coming years.
