DD Holdings fiscal Q2 profit climbs YOY

DD Holdings Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal second quarter ended Aug. 31 was ¥13.12 per share, an increase from ¥3.78 per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥93.1 million, a gain from ¥26.9 million in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin climbed to 1.5% from 0.4% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue rose year over year to ¥6.32 billion from ¥6.08 billion, and total operating expenses climbed from the prior-year period to ¥6.18 billion from ¥6.04 billion.

Reported net income totaled ¥39.0 million, or ¥5.50 per share, compared to a loss of ¥5.0 million, or a loss of 70 sen per share, in the prior-year period.

As of Oct. 9, US$1 was equivalent to ¥107.90.
