NM regulators approve location for 600-MW wind farm

The New Mexico Public Regulation Commission has approved the location for the proposed 600-MW Clines Corners wind farm in Torrance and Guadalupe counties, N.M., the Santa Fe New Mexican reported Oct. 9.

Covering approximately 40,000 acres of private land within the two counties, the wind project will consist of 220 turbines and be interconnected to the 345-KV Western Spirit transmission line.

The wind project is a joint venture between Orion Renewable Energy Group and MAP Energy LLC.
