Amazon buys wireless connected security camera startup

Amazon.com Inc. acquired Blink, a startup that makes battery-powered connected home security cameras.

Blink announced the acquisition on its website. "If you own one of our systems, nothing changes for now. We'll continue to operate under the Amazon umbrella selling and supporting the same great products you know and love," the company said.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Amazon recently launched its own indoor security camera, Amazon Cloud Cam, that can be used to monitor activities at home. Cloud Cam works with Amazon's Alexa voice control on Echo Show, Echo Spot, Amazon Fire TV devices and Fire tablets.
