Sokensha Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal fourth quarter ended March 31 amounted to a loss of ¥12.41 per share, compared with ¥5.32 per share in the year-earlier period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was a loss of ¥8.8 million, compared with income of ¥3.8 million in the prior-year period.
The normalized profit margin dropped to negative 0.8% from 0.4% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue grew year over year to ¥1.06 billion from ¥1.04 billion, and total operating expenses increased from the prior-year period to ¥1.07 billion from ¥1.03 billion.
Reported net income totaled a loss of ¥4.0 million, or a loss of ¥5.68 per share, compared to income of ¥6.0 million, or ¥8.51 per share, in the prior-year period.
For the year, the company's normalized net income totaled a loss of ¥49.66 per share, compared with ¥12.94 per share in the prior year.
Normalized net income was a loss of ¥35.0 million, compared with income of ¥9.1 million in the prior year.
Full-year total revenue grew on an annual basis to ¥4.23 billion from ¥4.19 billion, and total operating expenses increased on an annual basis to ¥4.29 billion from ¥4.17 billion.
The company said reported net income rose year over year to ¥38.0 million, or ¥53.91 per share, in the full year, from ¥9.0 million, or ¥12.77 per share.
