Microsoft Corp.is teaming up with Toyota on a project to enhance connected-vehicle technologies.

The car company plans to use Microsoft's Azure cloud servicesto develop features that "help to humanize the driving experience," accordingto a statement from Toyota cited in an April 4 Bloomberg report. The two companieshave collaborated on connected-vehicle technology since 2011.

The announcement comes at a time when tech companies are in arace to develop integrated and autonomous cars.
