Industrial new orders in Italy recovered in August, rising 4.9% month over month after falling in July on a seasonally adjusted basis, the country's National Institute of Statistics said.
On an unadjusted basis, industrial new orders edged up 0.9% from the prior-year period.
Domestic market orders inched up 0.5% month over month in August, while nondomestic market orders climbed 11.0%.
The average of new orders in the three months to August increased by 0.6% from the previous three months.
The industrial turnover index, a measure of monthly evolution of sales by industrial enterprises at current prices, went up by 1.2% in August from July on a seasonally adjusted basis, and rose 3.2% from the year-ago period on a calendar-adjusted basis.
