ING Americas, a part of INGGroep NV, said that it is expanding into Colombia with a newly establishedunit to be called ING Capital Colombia.
The company named Andrea Puerto as its country representativefor the new entity, which will initially focus on growth in structured finance andsector-based finance. Puerto will be based in Bogotá and report to the CEO of INGAmericas, Rudolf Molkenboer.
The company sees Colombia "as an attractive market in themedium to long term" to help grow its Latin American business, Puerto said.The firm also noted Colombia's $30 billion infrastructure development plan as anopportunity for ING within the local infrastructure space.
