Aflac expands employee benefits, to boost investments in US

Aflac Inc. plans to increase its investment by $250 million over three to five years in the U.S. to grow its operation and expand employee benefits and training programs due to the tax reform bill passed by Congress.

The company intends to invest in technology and digital businesses like Empowered, its North Carolina-headquartered subsidiary.

The company will increase its 401(k) match to 100% from 50% on the first 4% of employee contribution and make a one-time payment of $500 to every U.S. employee's retirement plan, effective in 2018. The company will offer for free certain hospital and accident insurance products to its employees.
