Microsoft Corp. is working to launch a translation app for Windows and other operating systems, Bloomberg News reported Dec. 13.

The app will reportedly help users translate nine spoken languages and 50 written ones, research executive Lili Cheng said at an event in San Francisco. The app is expected to help the software giant better compete with companies like Alphabet Inc. unit Google Inc. in the field of artificial intelligence.
