Daikokuten Bussan Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal second quarter ended Nov. 30, 2014, amounted to ¥53.33 per share, an increase of 14.3% from ¥46.65 per share in the year-earlier period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥748.0 million, a gain of 14.3% from ¥654.3 million in the year-earlier period.
The normalized profit margin increased to 2.3% from 2.2% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue rose 7.6% year over year to ¥31.90 billion from ¥29.65 billion, and total operating expenses climbed 7.4% on an annual basis to ¥30.72 billion from ¥28.61 billion.
Reported net income rose 32.1% on an annual basis to ¥652.4 million, or ¥46.49 per share, from ¥494.0 million, or ¥35.23 per share.
As of Jan. 14, US$1 was equivalent to ¥116.84.
