Groupon asking its shareholders to reject a stockholder proposal to end promotions involvinganimals used for entertainment.

According to a definitive proxy statement filed April 28, Grouponstockholder People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals intends to submit the proposalcalling for the company's board to enact a policy prohibiting promotions involvinganimals used in entertainment, because such animals are exploited in the entertainmentindustry and are treated cruelly.

The company's annual stockholders meeting is scheduled for June8.
