Sysmex fiscal Q1 profit falls 28.9% YOY; FY'20 outlook confirmed

Sysmex Corp. said its profit for first quarter ended June 30 declined 28.9% year over year.

Profit attributable to owners of the parent totaled ¥6.70 billion, down from ¥9.42 billion in the prior-year period.

Diluted EPS was ¥32.05, down 28.9% from ¥45.10 a year earlier.

Meanwhile, net sales grew 3.9% on an annual basis to ¥68.54 billion from ¥65.96 billion.

For the fiscal 2020 full year, the Kobe, Japan-based healthcare equipment company confirmed its outlook for profit attributable to owners of the parent at ¥42.00 billion, with net sales expected to be ¥320.00 billion.

As of Aug. 1, US$1 was equivalent to ¥108.24.
