Lake Resources NL acquired an additional 3,900 hectares of lithium brine leases, increasing the total lease area for its Kachi lithium brine project in Argentina to almost 50,000 hectares.

The leases have been transferred to the company's local subsidiary, and it expects a series of adjoining leases to be granted shortly.

The company on Dec. 21 said its ongoing exploration program will extend into 2017 and will include grid sampling, followed by geophysics and drilling.
