Under Armour Q4 profit climbs 19.9% YOY

Under Armour Inc. said its fourth-quarter normalized net income amounted to 24 cents per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of 23 cents per share.

EPS rose 19.0% year over year from 20 cents.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was $107.1 million, a gain of 19.9% from $89.3 million in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin dropped to 9.1% from 10.0% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue grew 30.8% year over year to $1.17 billion from $895.2 million, and total operating expenses increased 32.7% from the prior-year period to $993.1 million from $748.1 million.

Reported net income increased 17.1% on an annual basis to $103.9 million, or 23 cents per share, from $88.7 million, or 20 cents per share.

For the year, the company's normalized net income totaled 56 cents per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus normalized EPS estimate of 52 cents.

EPS rose 14.1% from 49 cents in the prior year.

Normalized net income was $245.6 million, a gain of 14.8% from $213.9 million in the prior year.

Full-year total revenue grew 28.5% on an annual basis to $3.96 billion from $3.08 billion, and total operating expenses increased 30.0% on an annual basis to $3.55 billion from $2.73 billion.

The company said reported net income grew 12.5% on an annual basis to $231.9 million, or 53 cents per share, in the full year, from $206.2 million, or 47 cents per share.
